Apple CEO Says Artificial Intelligence Will Cause Reduced Phone Usage

Article: Tim Cook says it's a 'significant possibility' people use their iPhones less because of AI - Business Insider

Tim Cook is saying that iPhone users might very well not want to use their devices as much with his Apple Intelligence on them.

I would definitely agree, since I certainly don't want to use a device if it has Artificial Intelligence built into it. I love AI for creating art, music and more. But, only when I choose to use it. I don't want it wandering around my devices and doing whatever it wants to without my consent. I felt exactly the same when Personal Assistants like Siri came out. I didn't want them always on and listening to what I was saying or doing.

OpenAI Didn’t Copy Scarlett Johansson’s Voice for ChatGPT

Article: OpenAI didn’t copy Scarlett Johansson’s voice for ChatGPT, records show - The Washington Post

A lot has been made over a voice in the new ChatGPT-4o that critics assert is a "clone" of actress Scarlett Johansson. But, records clearly show that the voice belongs to another actress hired specifically to create the voice heard.

The casting call for the actors used in the new version of ChatGPT specified "The actors should be nonunion. They should sound between 25 and 45 years old. And their voices should be warm, engaging [and] charismatic.” There was, however, no mention of any actor needing to bear a resemblance to Johanssen.

I think that this is about people considering the new technology to bear a resemblance to the film "Her," where Johnannsen played a more emotional personal assistant. I think that people simply wanted to read Johansson into whatever voice they then heard from ChatGPT-4o.
