Market Psychology - When Investors Get What They Want

Article: Stocks hammered after this week's labor data shows investors treating 'bad news as bad news' - Yahoo! Finance

"The Markets Are Treating Bad News As Bad News Again." The pure insanity of "Market Psychology." Everyone wanted unemployment to go up and jobs to do down. You got it. And, so the market goes down a lot. Make up your minds, people.

The United States is purely about credit, about buying things without the money to pay for them. That's why the National Debt is at insane levels. That's why credit card debt is so high. People buying stuff so they can show other people "how much money they have." It's a pure house of cards that, as always, will come right down.

Bitcoin Draws Japan and South Korea

Article: Bitcoin Bug Bites Japan and South Korea as China Clamps Down - New York Times

While China has cracked down on Bitcoin, Japan and South Korea are picking up the slack.

Bitcoin was thought to be created by someone from Japan, Satoshi Nakamoto. But, it has since been believed that was simply a moniker for the person or persons behind Bitcoin's creation. Also, the first exchange sprung from Japan. But, it was run by a Frenchman. Now, Japan is taking concrete steps in becoming more invested in Bitcoin. The nation has more exchanges popping up, and is proposing a Bitcoin competitor, J Coin.

Meanwhile, South Korea's Samsung is very interested in the software platform of Ethereum, while being less interested in Ethereum's currency, Ether.

Bitcoin ETF's on the Horizon

Article: Bitcoin ETFs on the Horizon - Barron's

Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency enthusiasts have been hoping for the intersection of crypto and established investing for a while now. Exchange-traded fund provider REX is hoping to introduce two Bitcoin-based ETF's, which are Exchange-Traded Funds. Those are funds that trade on the stock market.

Naturally, the SEC, the Securities and Exchange Commission, would have to approve! But, the push to make it happen is there, so it is sounding like the possibility could become reality.

HIVE Becomes First Cryptocurrency Stock

Article: HIVE Blockchain Technologies (TSXV:HIVE) (OTCMKTS:PRELF) Is One Of The Top Bitcoin Stocks Around - Insider Financial

Company Site: HIVE Blockchain Technologies - Main Site

Cryptocurrency enthusiasts have been wanting to know when there would be a stock market play for Bitcoin, Blockchain or mining. This week, it happened! HIVE Blockchain Technologies is now trading on the Canadian TSX Venture Exchange, and as an OTC stock on the U.S. market.

HIVE is buying mining time off of Genesis Mining, who is considered the leading cloud mining supplier. HIVE proposes to use their capital to do mining and produce income. It should be interesting to see how it all pans out.

Now, there has been Bitcoin Investment Trust (GBTC), which is traded on the OTC market. But, that is basically just a bunch of Bitcoin. You can directly buy Bitcoin on many well-regarded exchanges, making GBTC fairly redundant. HIVE is actually a company that is directly engaged in the Blockchain.

Now, folks, this is speculative stuff! It's up to you if you're going to spend money on this. But, I basically just took money generated from my bond funds and bought a smaller amount of the OTC. You can invest in the Canadian stock directly through certain brokerages. I have only dipped my toes into two OTC stocks ever. This one, and Tencent of China, who provides internet products, similar to those of Baidu, who are on the regular U.S. stock market.
