Three Mile Island Reactor to Come Back Online

Microsoft and Constellation Energy are financing a plan to restart the healthy Number 1 nuclear reactor at Three Mile Island. Plans are to have it back online by 2028. The Nuclear Regulatory Commission will have to fully sign off on this before it happens. This is the case with all nulcear projects in the United States. This includes the new project by Bill Gates, who has broken ground on a new kind of nuclear power plant in Wyoming.

When it comes to Artificial Intelligence, massive amounts of electricity are needed to make it run. Nuclear Power is a zero-emission energy source that only produces steam. No CO2, no chemicals like mercury being sent into the atmosphere like with coal or natural gas.

Colossus will require a million gallons of water per day and 150 megawatts of electricity, enough to power 100,000 homes per year. The entire project has been shrouded in secrecy, with the local population not allowed any input.
