Our NASA Social Group toured Johnson Space Center last week, in advance of Friday's successful launch of the new Orion Spacecraft.
While on the tour, I recorded several videos, including this one! It features John McCollough, Chief Flight Director, giving us a tour of the Apollo-Era Mission Control Center.
Today's main Mission Control Center that controls #ISS at NASA Johnson Space Center (twitter: @NASA_Johnson). Toured during the #NASASocial #Orion #JSC event.
Crowds gathered on December 3 at Space Center Houston visitor center, near NASA Johnson Space Center (twitter: @NASA_Johnson), to watch #Orion launch! #NASASocial #Orion #JSC
#Vader ! I had my 4" Darth Vader plush clip-on with my camera bag throughout the #NASASocial #Orion #JSC event. I don't think anyone remembered him, but Lord Vader will remember them! :-)
I am in Houston at Johnson Space Center to cover the first launch of NASA's Orion spacecraft on Thursday morning. Today, however, we get to tour JSC and get to ask questions of Orion scientists, technicians and astronauts.
The first launch of the new NASA Orion spacecraft is this Thursday! Orion is now in place on top of the Delta IV heavy-lift rocket on the launch pad at Kennedy Space Center.
Exploration Flight Test-1 (EFT-1) will test Orion's systems and performance from launch through splashdown. Launch Time is 7:05 a.m. EST from Space Launch Complex 37,
Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, Florida. The Launch Window will last 2 hours, 39 minutes.
I leave for Houston today, and will be at Johnson Space Center in Houston for the NASA Social event for the launch on December 3 and 4. I will post updates on my blog, Twitter and more!
