Mission Updates: Live: Special coverage of China's Chang'e-5 landing operation - CGTN
Chang'e 5 touched down on the moon at 10:11 a.m. EST (1511GMT, 11:11 p.m. Beijing Time) near Mons Rümker, a mountain in the Ocean of Storms (or Oceanus Procellarum), China's space agency, CNSA, said. The lander seeks to collect a lunar sample and return it to Earth. This would be the first time a lunar sample has been brought back to Earth since 1976, when the Soviet Union's Luna 24 mission brought back six ounces of material.
